Kaitlin Pylypa was born in Edmonton, Alberta 1996. She creates large scale paintings of fantastical architectural spaces, inspired by the buildings that she sees in her daily life. She seeks out buildings and puts them into a world of her own creation, focusing on the lack of humanity and the feeling of solitude. The worlds that she creates come from an interest of abandoned spaces that she gained from living in urban construction zones.
She graduated MacEwan University in Edmonton with a Diploma of Fine Arts in 2016. She then moved to Halifax to attend NSCAD University (Nova Scotia Collage of Art and Design) and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta.
